Zipzoom Pizzeria was made for a friend's personal game jam. It lasted for one week and the theme was 2010's Flash Game, with an additional optional bonus goal of making it an arcade game as well (high scores etc).
I programmed and created all of the art by myself, asked friends and family to test the game, and finally sound effects were taken from Pixabay.
My first thought was (and what I went with) was to make a game similar to Papa's Pizzeria, a 2010's flash game about making pizzas. In order to make the most money you needed to be quick, multi-task and reduce mistakes as much as possible, however taking it more slowly wasn't going to punish you other than losing a bit of money.
I wanted to take the "stressful" parts of Papa's Pizzeria (and by extension other Papa's games) and make it into an arcade game where you serve pizzas to alien cats, that speak an alien language, and every time you do so, the game gets faster and more chaotic the further on you went.
You have three lives to spare, making any mistake such as taking too long, burning the pizza, under cooking it or making it incorrectly would cause you to lose a life. Serving a pizza correctly increases your score with the goal of the game being to get the most points possible before losing all three lives.
The game was received well to those I showed it off to, and I would love to make more short games like these.
